FC Bayern Munich will start the new Champions League season without Thomas Müller in the starting lineup. The 35-year-old will initially sit on the bench in the home game against Dinamo Zagreb and will have to wait for his 152nd appearance in Europe’s premier football league.
Three changes
Compared to the 6-1 win at Holstein Kiel on Saturday, coach Vincent Kompany has made three changes to Munich’s starting eleven. Michael Olise, Alphonso Davies and Aleksandar Pavlovic will start for the injured Sacha Boey and Kingsley Coman and João Palhinha, who are also on the bench.
Goretzka in the squad
As announced, Leon Goretzka, who was not considered recently, is back in the Bayern squad. After the injury of right-back Boey, Kompany did not have to leave any of his stars out of the squad. For Kompany, this is the first Champions League game as a coach.
