Harry Kane from FC Bayern Munich has become the most successful English goalscorer in the Champions League. The captain of the English national football team increased his goal tally in the premier class to 33 goals in the match against Dinamo Zagreb. This puts him ahead of his compatriot Wayne Rooney (30 goals) and the Munich club legend Arjen Robben (31) in the all-time goalscorer list. Robben scored for FC Bayern in the Champions League triumph against Dortmund at Wembley in 2013.
After former Tottenham star Kane scored a hat-trick in the 6-1 Bundesliga win over Holstein Kiel at the weekend, the 31-year-old celebrated his first four-goal haul for Bayern in the Champions League. Only three professionals have managed to do this for the Munich team before him.
Kane converted three penalties in Tuesday’s win over Dinamo Zagreb and also scored a penalty from Joshua Kimmich.
Kane had previously scored two braces for Munich in the Champions League. He scored twice in the 2-1 win against Galatasaray Istanbul in November 2023 and in the 3-0 win against Lazio Rome six months ago. In total, Kane has already scored 53 competitive goals for FC Bayern.
