Caitlin Clark scored 35 points in a WNBA game for the first time in her young basketball career, leading her team to a narrow victory against the Dallas Wings, including German national player Satou Sabally. The Indiana Fever won 110:109 at home and secured sixth place in the seeding list for the upcoming playoffs.

Sabally had a good game herself and scored 27 points, but was unable to prevent her team’s eighth defeat in a row. Even before the defeat, the Wings had no chance of participating in the playoffs in the strongest women’s basketball league in the world.

Clark is playing her first professional season and is breaking record after record in North America. Against the Wings, the 22-year-old recorded eight assists, bringing her total to 329 this season, more than any other player ever before. Her 761 points are also the best for a league rookie.

1000 points in a season have never been achieved

A’ja Wilson of the Las Vegas Aces also achieved a record. In the 84:71 win against the Connecticut Sun, she scored 29 points and became the first player in WNBA history to reach 1,000 points in a season.
