CNN anchor Alisyn Camerota announced her husband of almost 23 years passed away after losing his battle with pancreatic cancer.

“Some very sad personal news to share,” she began a heartbreaking Instagram caption on Friday alongside a photo of the couple on their wedding day.

The journalist revealed her “beloved” and “extraordinary” husband, Tim Lewis, lost his two-year battle with stage 4 pancreatic cancer on July 27 at age 58.

“I cannot imagine any human being soldiering through a devastating diagnosis with more humor, humility and bravery than Tim,” she continued. “He was a phenomenal father, husband, friend and role model and the rest of us are left trying to follow in his footsteps.”

Camerota, also 58, wrote that she and the couple’s three teenage kids are “still getting their bearings” after the loss.

“Tim imbued us with a lot of strength and stability and we’re determined to try to emulate those qualities,” the political commentator added.

She announced that the family set up a fund in his memory to help families who were going through similar struggles. At the time of publication, they had received over $16,000.

“This month would have been our 23rd wedding anniversary,” she continued. “I feel incredibly lucky to have had such a deep, committed, loving partnership for the time we had.”

She concluded by thanking everyone for their “love and letters, trays of lasagna, and the many, many gestures of kindness” and announcing that she would be back at work in the coming weeks.

“I am grateful. ❤️❤️❤️,” she wrote.

“The sun is shining…we’re smiling and surviving,” she captioned a photo with her kids earlier this summer.

In August, Camerota hinted at her loss with a photo of herself with two of her children.

“The sun is shining…we’re smiling and surviving,” she captioned the photo.

Lewis, who was originally from Kansas City, Mo., worked in private equity and business consulting. He worked at Southfield Capital, where he was a partner for nearly 10 years.

Camerota, meanwhile, worked at Fox News for years before joining CNN in 2014.
