The entrance to the grounds of the harness racing track in Karlshorst is not in the best condition: plants are growing over the archway, which has already been sprayed with graffiti. But there is something magical about this gate into the greenery, right next to the busy Treskower Allee. “It is our portal to Wuhlheide,” says Götz Frommer, chairman of the Karlshorst eV association. He sees this nearby greenery under threat: the Senate has considered parts of the site as building land.
