Creditors seek to liquidate direct-to-consumer retailer formerly based in Hudson

The internet and catalog retailer, which sells, warehouses and ships books, DVDs, clothing and other gift items under brands including Shop PBS and Daedalus Books & Music, was expected to close its operations at 5581 Hudson Industrial Parkway and 6279 Hudson Crossing Parkway, Suite 100, on Sept. 27, CEO David Frankel said in a warning letter to the state.

All but 10 of Universal Screen Arts’ 215 employees were expected to be laid off by that date, Frankel said in the letter aimed at complying with the federal Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification Act.
