Cuyahoga County program helping repair roads in 25 communities. Find out where

CLEVELAND, Ohio – Cuyahoga County is helping to resurface avenues, boulevards, roads and streets in 25 communities over the next two years.

County council, on Tuesday, approved $5.45 million in funding to pay half of the cost of the projects through the Local Resurfacing Program. The program helps fill funding gaps up to $250,000 per project so that communities can keep up with road maintenance.

Individual communities pick the areas in need and apply for the county money, which is paid for out of the county’s road and bridge fund.

The county did not receive any requests for funding from communities in District 2, encompassing Brook Park and Lakewood, or District 7, covering a large portion of central and eastern Cleveland, Councilman Michael Byrne, who chairs the public works committee, said at Tuesday’s meeting.
