BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN, OCT 13 – In conjunction with the 10th Anniversary of Suri Seri Begawan Raja Pengiran Anak Damit Mosque, Manggis Madang Village, a running event was held in the mosque grounds today.
The event named the Decade Run was attended by the Minister of Transport and Infocommunications, His Excellency Pengiran Dato Seri Setia Shamhary bin Pengiran Dato Paduka Haji Mustapha as the guest of honour.
A total of 206 male and female participants participated in the run, which was divided into three categories, namely a 10km run, a 5km run and then a 2.5km walk for Palestine.
The event started with the Congregational Morning Prayer, followed by tazkirah and physical exercise and then continued with the first 10km run, which was completed by the guest of honour, followed by a 5km run and a 2.5km walk which was also participated by the guest of honour.
The event also saw a prize-giving ceremony presented by the guest of honor and a donation of $10,000 for the Palestinian Humanitarian Fund in Gaza 2024 as a result of Takaful Brunei and its subsidiaries.
The donation was presented by the Deputy Chief Operating Officer of Takaful Brunei Am Sdn Bhd, Hj Md Fuad Hamdi bin Pehin Orang Kaya Paduka Seri Utama Dato Paduka Seri Setia Haji Salim, on behalf of the management of Brunei Darussalam Takaful Company Sdn Bhd to the Level I Special Duties Officer , Awang Amirul Shukri bin Haji Hafneh is also the Acting Deputy Director of JAPEM.
