Discus thrower Pudenz wins at Istaf

Discus thrower Kristin Pudenz secured a home victory at the start of the traditional Berlin athletics meeting Istaf. The 2021 Olympic silver medalist from Potsdam won with 64.14 meters in the last attempt ahead of Marike Steinacker. The Olympic fourth-place finisher from Leverkusen led for a long time with 63.24 meters.

Third place went to Olympic fifth-place finisher Vanessa Kamga from Sweden with 63.14 metres, ahead of Vice European Champion Jorinde van Klinken from the Netherlands with 62.46 metres. The meeting record is held by Olympic champion Valarie Allman from the USA with 71.16 metres. In her last competition, former Vice European Champion Julia Harting came seventh in the Olympic Stadium with 58.69 metres.
