Driver with felony warrants leads police on a dangerous pursuit: Broadview Heights Police Blotter

BROADVIEW HEIGHTS, Ohio

Fleeing, Royalton Road: On Aug. 20, police observed a white Chevy Silverado with an empty back window covered in plastic parked at a Royalton Road gas station.

It turned out the truck’s tags were expired.

The driver attempted to leave but the officer caught up on Royalton Road.

However, the Chevy continued northbound on I-77. The chase, which varied in speed from 50 to 80 MPH, ended in Garfield Heights after officers bumped the Silverado.

A Jeep traveling in the opposite direction had to move off the road to avoid a collision. The passerby driver of the Jeep was injured.

Eventually the Chevy driver, who intentionally hit the police cruiser, was arrested after running away through backyards.

The man had multiple felony warrants. A passenger was found with cocaine in her bra.

The driver was charged with failing to comply, obstructing official business, vandalism, drug paraphernalia, impaired driving and expired registration.

The passenger was charged with drug abuse and narcotics equipment.
