KUDAT, 7 OCT – An elderly woman was found dead in a fire involving a house and a vehicle in Kampung Pituru here last night.
The Operations Center of the Malaysian Fire and Rescue Department (JBPM) in the state of Sabah said in a statement that it received a call at 10.10pm before the fire brigade arrived at the scene.
He said a total of three members from the Kudat Fire and Rescue Station arrived at the scene of the incident which is located approximately 45 kilometers away at around 10.46pm and the fire was successfully extinguished by the villagers before the arrival of the team.
“A woman Lo Hiong Lan, 76, died in the fire of the two-storey house and the body was handed over to the Royal Malaysian Police for further action,” he said.
An inspection of the area involved has been carried out and the cause of the fire has not been identified. The operation ended at 2.25 am. – Named
