The race for a seat in the Ohio House of Representatives from District 21 offers an interesting study in contrasts. The district traditionally votes strongly Democratic, now comprising Beachwood, Lyndhurst, Euclid, South Euclid, University Heights and the city of Cleveland’s Wards 8 and 10 (essentially, the neighborhoods of Collinwood and Euclid Park). That would seem to put the Democratic primary winner Eric Synenberg in the driver’s seat for election in November.
However, the Ohio House is and figures to remain heavily weighted toward Republicans, which would seem to put Republican candidate Joshua Malovasic in the strongest position to get things done for his district – if only he could get there.
