YEREVAN, SEPTEMBER 20, ARMENPRESS. The International Chess Federation recognized the Armenian men’s team as the best men’s team of the 100th anniversary.
“Armenpress”according to the report, FIDE awarded the best of the last 100 years.
Former world chess champion Magnus Carlsen was recognized as the best chess player of the 100th anniversary. And the best female chess player is Judith Polgar.
The best team is the men’s chess team of Armenia, which became a three-time winner of the World Olympiad, a gold medalist of the World and European team championships.
The first vice-president of the Chess Federation of Armenia, Smbat Lputyan, was also awarded a special prize by FIDE for popularizing chess in the world.
