Fifa released the latest world rankings

GENEVA, SEPT 20 – Argentina and France maintain the top two positions in the FIFA Men’s Football World Ranking released yesterday, reports Xinhua.

World champions Argentina remain at the top with 1889.02 points, while France is in second place with 1851.92 points.

Spain is third with 1836.42 points, followed by England (4), Brazil (5) and Belgium (6). The top ten teams are unchanged with the Netherlands, Portugal, Colombia and Italy taking the next place behind the leaders.

A total of 184 international matches were played in September in 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers, continental competitions and friendlies around the world.

Japan moved up two places to 16th, Iran moved up one to 19th, while Denmark was also in the top 20, showing an improvement among the teams chasing the rankings. – Named
