Saturday morning, a few minutes after nine o’clock. On the footpath on Schloßstraße in the center of Potsdam, a little boy is playing with his bouncy ball. The ball bounces across the pavement, from one side of the street to the other. No sooner have you taken an interest in the boy and his little jumping companion than the approximately five-year-old immediately greets you very friendly. “Come in,” says the child, pointing to a glass door. It belongs to a recently completed building – the new Potsdam synagogue.
