After an accidental kick by former Bundesliga professional Caglar Söyüncü, the participation of Welsh striker Kieffer Moore in the next Nations League match is uncertain. The 32-year-old attacker was unfortunately injured in the 0-0 draw between the Welsh and the Turks on Friday evening.

He fell to the ground on the wet grass of the Cardiff City Stadium after not controlling the ball perfectly. When Söyüncü tried to step over him while running, he hit Moore in the face with the sole of his left studded shoe. He immediately raised his arm in apology.

Hug after return

Moore, who plays for Sheffield United in the English second division and had to miss a long period of the 2018/2019 season due to a head injury, had to be treated for several minutes and, according to his coach, also received stitches. Moore had only been substituted on shortly before the scene.

Coach Craig Bellamy announced that the attacker will be examined more closely before the match in Montenegro on Monday.

Moore finished the match in Cardiff wearing a turban. When he returned to the pitch, he was hugged by Fenerbahce professional Söyüncü, who had played for SC Freiburg for two years from the summer of 2016.
