The Bulldogs (3-1, 1-1 SEC) are coming off a heartbreaking 41-34 loss at the hands of rival Alabama. Georgia put together a comeback for the ages before the Crimson Tide’s heroics had the final say on a 75-yard touchdown reception from freshman sensation Ryan Williams.

Georgia must turn the page, as painful as it may still be.

The Bulldogs are guided by senior Carson Beck, who has tallied 1,119 yards and 10 touchdowns with three interceptions. All three came against Alabama. He has the 15th-highest QBR in the FBS at 81.3. Georgia touts 302.3 passing yards per game.

Senior receiver Dillon Bell has hauled in 14 receptions for 198 yards and two touchdowns, averaging 14.1 yards per reception. Senior Arian Smith has nabbed 17 receptions for 274 yards and two touchdowns, averaging 16.1 yards per reception.

Their run game has been a serious question mark all season. Junior Trevor Etienne has notched 36 carries for 212 yards and one touchdown.

Georgia currently ranks 102nd in the FBS with 129.3 yards per game. Another concern has been their 33.3% third-down conversion rate, which comes in at No. 106 in the nation.

The defense, though hammered by Alabama, has been stout. Sophomore Raylen Wilson (10 solo tackles, 1.5 sacks) leads a group that allows 288.3 yards per game, including 162 passing yards per game. Overall, the Bulldogs are the 18th-best defensive unit in the FBS with 14.8 points allowed per game.

Georgia is 96th in the nation in forced turnovers with just four. Coincidentally, they have coughed up the ball four times this season.

The Tigers (2-3, 0-2) also arrive into the matchup following a loss, falling short to the Oklahoma Sooners at home. They also lost to the Arkansas Razorbacks as Hugh Freeze’s second season is in danger of going off the rails.

The Tigers are turnover prone to the highest degree. They are tied for last in the FBS in turnover margin with minus-11. They have thrown nine interceptions and fumbled the ball six times.

Those struggles appeared again last week as Payton Thorne threw a pick-6, which became the game-winning score. Thorne has thrown for 1,038 yards with 10 touchdowns and six interceptions.

Auburn’s offense still comes in at 466 yards per game, which is the 23rd-best in the nation. They measure out at 43rd in the nation with 33.4 points per game.

Senior receiver KeAndre Lambert-Smith has notched 17 receptions for 415 yards and six touchdowns, averaging a whopping 24.4 yards per reception. Freshman Malcolm Simmons has impressed with 14 receptions for 214 yards and two touchdowns while averaging 15.3 yards per reception.

Senior running back Jarquez Hunter has tallied 65 carries for 437 yards and two touchdowns.

Senior safety Jerrin Thompson leads the defense with 20 solo tackles and one interception.

It’s the 129th edition of the Deep South’s Oldest Rivalry. The Tigers played the Bulldogs tough last year, falling 27-20. Georgia holds an edge in the rivalry, 64-56-8. The latest rendition happens between the hedges.
