Getting my driver’s license for my 50th birthday

Comedian Kurt Krömer, who turns 50 in November, wants to give himself a present for his big birthday. “Next week I’ll start getting my driver’s license,” Krömer explained during the live recording of the 100th episode of his podcast “Feelings” in Cologne to cheers from the audience. “Then even more people can kiss my ass.”

The Berlin entertainer, whose real name is Alexander Bojcan, has repeatedly stated in the past that he does not need a driver’s license. “There is always a traffic jam wherever you want to drive a car. I prefer to walk,” he told the German Press Agency in 2011.

At 50, Krömer apparently wants to catch up. “Do you think that if I go to the theory class now and there are only young people there, they’ll think I’m the teacher?” he asked his colleague Carolin Kebekus during the live show. When asked whether he was already excited, the future novice driver said no. “I’ll do the automatic.”

The comedian and presenter is looking forward to his big birthday on November 20th with a relaxed attitude. “I have such a nice ‘kiss my ass’ attitude. I’ve always had it, but then there was another update. A completely new operating system.”

Krömer recorded his podcast anniversary on Friday evening in front of 350 viewers at the Cologne Volksbühne. The episode will be broadcast on various podcast platforms on October 10th. It can be heard on Amazon Music a week earlier.
