Golfer Helen Briem won her first title on her debut on the professional tour. The 19-year-old from Stuttgart’s GC Solitude won the Ladies European Tour tournament in Denia, Spain. The Nürtingen native beat Frenchwoman Pauline Roussin-Bouchard (272) and Czech Sara Kouskova (275) at the La Sella Golf Resort & Spa with a total score of 270 strokes. Briem only turned professional at the end of July as the world’s best amateur and is considered a great young hope for German golf.
