The Minister of Defense of Azerbaijan Zakir Hasanov and the Deputy Minister of Defense-Commander of the Ground Forces Hikmet Mirzoev checked the combat readiness of the units of the Azerbaijani army at the conventional border with Armenia.

The Azerbaijani Armed Forces, referring to the Ministry of Defense, reports that “round-the-clock combat duty was organized at a high level in the units, and continuous service was carried out in accordance with the rules of everyday life.”

Having met with the personnel on combat duty, the Minister of Defense highly appreciated the combat and psychological preparation of the servicemen.

“Colonel-General Hasanov has set specific problems before the relevant persons in order to better organize service and combat operations and increase vigilance,” the message says, according to APA.

Baku has spread messages in this and previous weeks, accusing the Armenian armed forces of opening fire on the border. Armenian side denied all these claims, recalling that the Prime Minister’s staff earlier had suggested to create a joint Armenia-Azerbaijan mechanism for investigating cases of ceasefire violations and/or information about them, to which Azerbaijan has not yet responded.
