CLEVELAND, Ohio – Perry overwhelmed Hawken, 68-0, to win the Chagrin Valley Chagrin Division title outright on Friday night at Alumni Stadium.

Perry (9-1, 5-0) wasted little time taking control of the contest. On the second play of the game Perry’s Armani Chiappone intercepted a pass. On the very next play, Walter Moses threw a 47-yard touchdown pass to Luke Sivon. Less than two minutes of game clock later, Dareon Howard rushed for a touchdown. Sivon returned a touchdown 51-yards for another score. Just 3:43 into the game, Perry led 21-0.

Moses threw a touchdown pass to Trent Taylor in the first half that was his 80th as a Pirate, setting a school record for career touchdown passes.

Both teams entered the game on six-game winning streaks with their only losses in week three. Perry lost at home to Kirtland, 22-21 in 3OT, and Hawken fell at Gilmour, 33-12.

Both teams had clinched playoff spots before the game. Hawken entered the game seeded fourth in D-III, Region 9, while Perry had already secured a home game and was seeded third in D-IV, Region 13.
