Second division football club Hertha BSC has extended the contract with Marton Dardai for the long term. The 22-year-old’s contract, which would have expired next summer, is now dated until June 30, 2028, the club announced.
The Berlin native has been with the Old Lady since 2012. The central defender made his professional debut in the Bundesliga on November 7, 2020. The left-footer has played a total of 81 competitive games for Hertha so far, scoring one goal.
“Marton has been wearing the blue and white jersey for more than half of his life. At Hertha BSC he has not only developed into a seasoned professional, but also into a national player. As a club, we watched his performances at the recent European Championships with great pride. We are all the happier that we are moving forward together,” explained sporting director Benjamin Weber.
Dardai made his international debut for Hungary on March 24, 2024. Since then, the defender has played eight times for the Magyars, including three times at the European Championships in Germany this summer.
