Hezbollah launched a missile at Tel Aviv

BEIRUT, SEPT 25 – Hezbollah said it had fired a ballistic missile at the Israeli city of Tel Aviv today, with Israel launching more airstrikes over Lebanon after its forces intercepted an unprecedented launch.

It was the first time Hezbollah claimed to have launched a ballistic missile attack since the nearly year-long conflict with Israel began on October 7.

Israel carried out more airstrikes around Lebanon today, after attacks earlier this week killed at least 558 people in the deadliest day of violence since the 1975-1990 civil war.

According to Lebanese officials, hundreds of thousands of civilians have fled their homes in southern and eastern Lebanon, both strongholds of Hezbollah, to avoid violence between the Iran-backed fighters and Israel.

Nour Hamad, a 22-year-old student in the Lebanese city of Baalbek, described living in fear all week.

“We spent four or five days without sleep, not knowing if we would wake up in the morning,” he said.

“The sound of the bombing was very scary, everyone was scared. Children are scared, and adults are too.”
