BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN, 16 OCT – His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam will depart for Jakarta, Republic of Indonesia to attend the Inauguration Ceremony of the President of the Republic of Indonesia 8, His Excellency Prabowo Subianto and His Excellency Gibran Rakabuming Raka as Vice President which will be held on 20 October.
The last meeting between His Majesty and TYT Prabowo Subianto was during His Excellency’s visit to Brunei Darussalam on September 5 as Minister of Defense and future President of the Republic of Indonesia.
This appointment will mark the five-year administration period of His Highness Prabowo Subianto as President of the Republic of Indonesia and His Highness Gibran Rakabuming Raka as Vice President.
Since the establishment of diplomatic relations in January 1984, Brunei Darussalam and the Republic of Indonesia have enjoyed close and friendly ties of friendship and bilateral cooperation in the fields of trade and investment, defense, education, health, labor and people exchange.
The two countries also cooperate closely through regional and international cooperation including ASEAN, APEC, OIC and BIMP-EAGA.
