Thuringia AfD state party and parliamentary group leader Björn Höcke has cancelled his participation in the state press conference after the state elections. No reason was given for the rejection, as can be seen from an email from the Thuringian AfD faction to the State Press Conference Association. It was initially unclear whether a representative of the AfD would be present at the press conference in this format.
Höcke had already cancelled his participation in a TV round and justified this a day later with a virus infection.
The Thuringia State Press Conference is an association of political journalists. Party leaders or leading candidates of those parties that were previously represented in the state parliament or are moving into the new state parliament were invited to the state press conference after the state elections.
