In the Migration debate the tone between the traffic light parties and the Union is becoming increasingly ugly. The most recent occasion was an election campaign speech in Brandenburg, in which CDU leader Friedrich Merz called out to his supporters: “Look at the schools, look at the housing situation, look at the universities, look at the hospitals, look at the doctors’ offices, look at what consequences this has, when a country is overwhelmed by migration.”
