MIAMI, Florida — The Buffalo Bills travel to Hard Rock Stadium to face the Miami Dolphins in the first “Thursday Night Football” broadcast of the NFL season on Sept. 12. The game is available exclusively on Prime Video, which has a free trial. Kickoff is at 8:15 p.m. Eastern.
Prime Video is Amazon’s video streaming service and comes with a free trial. The broadcast features play-by-play announcer Al Michaels, game analyst Kirk Herbstreit and sideline reporter Kaylee Hartung.
The AFC East rivals, both of whom won their season openers last week, figure to be fighting for the top spot in the division once again. Miami boasts one of the most explosive offenses in the league. Quarterback Tua Tagovailoa threw for more yards than anyone last season, and wide receiver Tyreek Hill led the league in receiving yards, too.
But the Bills are no slouch either. Quarterback Josh Allen has been a model of consistency over his seven-year career and often saves his best games for the Dolphins. In 12 games against Miami, Allen averages 280 yards and three total touchdown passes per game, plus a passer rating of 110.1. But he’ll be without Stefon Diggs, his favorite target the last four seasons but who was traded to Houston in the offseason.

BILLS – DOLPHINS Matchup Preview
These teams feature high-powered offenses, so this game could come down to defense. Both made significant changes on that side of the ball in the offseason even though each finished in the top 10 in defense a year ago. The Bills have two new starters at safety after parting ways with mainstays Jordan Poyer and Micah Hyde and will be without cornerback Taron Johnson, who was hurt in the opener against the Cardinals. The unit passed their first test, limiting Arizona to 270 yards total offense in Week 1.
The Dolphins, meanwhile, have a new defensive coordinator in Anthony Weaver and added several key contributors including linebacker Jordyn Brooks, defensive tackle Calais Campbell, cornerback Kendall Fuller and safety Jordan Poyer. The unit played well last Sunday against Jacksonville when it counted, constantly pressuring quarterback Trevor Lawrence and pitching a shutout in the second half.
BILLS – DOLPHINS Last Game Recap
Both teams enter the game in a three-way tie (with the Patriots) atop the AFC East at 1-0. Both reached the postseason in 2023 with identical 11-6 records, and both were eliminated by the eventual Super Bowl champion Kansas City Chiefs in subsequent weeks.
Miami leads the all-time regular season series against Buffalo with a 61-54-1 edge.
Bills: Beat the Cardinals, 34-28 in Week 1. Allen had two passing TDs and two rushing TDs to rally the Bills from a 14-point deficit.
Dolphins: Beat the Jaguars, 20-17 in Week 1. Jason Sanders hit a 52-yard game-winning field goal as time expired.

The Dolphins’ top two running backs are listed as questionable, which could throw a wrench into head coach Mike McDaniel’s game plan. Bills QB Allen hurt his non-throwing hand last week but was a full participant in practice.
