Anthony Richardson missed nearly all of last season with an injury, but he didn’t take long to show off what made him such an intriguing prospect. His third quarter TD pass to Alec Pierce traveled 65 yards through the air has been the talk among NFL circles despite the Colts’ loss.

Green Bay, meanwhile, had the wind taken out of its sails a bit when Jordan Love went down with an injury at the end of their season opener against the Philadelphia Eagles. He had to come off for the last two plays of the game, but still has not been officially ruled out.

Packers – Colts Matchup Preview

The Packers played well enough offensively to beat most teams. They had the third best offensive performance and put up 29 points in the loss. The problem was that their defense couldn’t do much to slow down the Eagles, who had the fourth best offensive performance and scored 34 points.

The Colts’ defense had similar issues stopping the Houston Texans in Week 1. The Texans had the second best offensive showing in the NFL in Week 1, earning more than 200 yards both on the ground and through the air. And, despite Richardson’s big arm, the Colts offense didn’t have enough to keep up.

Packers – Colts Last Game Recap

Packers: Jordan Love had 260 yards, two TDs and an interception on 17 of 34 passing in a 34-29 loss to the Eagles. Jayden Reed accounted for 138 yards and a TD on four catches, while Josh Jacobs had 84 rushing yards on 16 carries.

Colts: Anthony Richardson had 212 yards two TDs and an interception on 9 of 19 passing in a 29-27 loss to the Texans. Pierce led the way with 125 yards and a TD on three catches, while Richardson’s 56 rushing yards and a TD on 6 carries paced the rushing attack.

Packers – Colts Injuries of Note

Packers: Jordan Love, Josh Jacobs and Kenny Clark are questionable.

Colts: Kwitty Paye, Julian Blackmon and DeForest Buckner and Josh Downs are questionable.

Packers – Colts Players to Watch

Packers: Anyone in the Packers’ receiving corps could pop out on any given Sunday. Last week it was Jayden Reed, but this week watch out for Christian Watson. Also keep an eye out for Jaire Alexander in the defensive secondary.

Colts: If the Colts can get their rushing attack going with Jonathan Taylor they should be in good shape in Green Bay. Also look for Michael Pittman to get more involved in the offense.
