Hamburger SV continues to work on its team for the future. The second division football club has extended the contract with homegrown player Fabio Balde. The 19-year-old left winger has been playing for HSV’s youth teams since 2020 and made his debut with the pros this season. HSV did not provide any information about the contract term, but the new contract is expected to run until 2029.

“It is an important goal of HSV to bring its own talents closer to the professional squad. Fabio has developed enormously in recent months and has recommended himself for the professional team, not least through his good training and playing performances with our U21 team,” said sports director Stefan Kuntz.

Balde was in the Hamburg starting eleven for the first time in the 4-1 win against Preußen Münster. “Now I just have to keep at it and repay the trust step by step,” said the offensive player. “The fact that I can continue to do this long-term at my club in my home town of all places fills me with pride.”
