Al-Musharkh, in his capacity as Chairman of the Arab Group, met with the Troika and Arab ambassadors in Geneva, with Filippo Grandithe United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees, and the talks focused on the need for urgent action in response to the emerging crisis and its repercussions, such as the internal displacement of civilians and the increased influx of refugees.
The Arab group also met with Tedros Ghebreyesus Director-General of the World Health Organization, where emphasis was placed on quickly meeting the needs of the brotherly Lebanese people and intensifying humanitarian aid and medical supplies.
Al-Musharrekh and the Arab ambassadors also held talks with Mirjana Spoljaric-Eger, President of the International Committee of the Red Cross, during which they stressed the need for an active role for international organizations at this critical time, especially by the Committee of the Red Cross, and the need to take measures to respect international law and international humanitarian law and provide protection for civilians.
