WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) — Hydraulic Avenue will close again for a construction project this week.
The Kansas Department of Transportation says Hydraulic will be closed for two days starting Wednesday between the I-135 and the K-96 bridges and onramp. Crews will install two girders for the new bridge connecting I-135 and K-96.
Traffic exiting off of westbound K-96 will have to head north to 37th Street or continue onto I-135. Traffic on 29th Street will have to turn at Ohio Street to access 37th St. N.
Traffic exiting southbound I-135 will have to turn right onto 29th Street. Northbound I-135 traffic will not be able to exit at the 29th and Hydraulic exit but can still get onto eastbound K-96.
Traffic will still be able to get onto southbound I-135 from 29th St. N. Access to businesses along Hydraulic between I-135 and 37th St. North will be maintained.
Last week, Hydraulic was closed for one day while crews installed a single girder over the road.
