KOTA KINABALU, OCT 21 – The Immigration Department arrested 64 illegal immigrants in an enforcement operation around Beaufort and Sipitang early this morning.
Sabah Immigration Department Director Datuk Sh Sitti Saleha Habib Yussof said all those arrested were aged between one month and 79 years, comprising 18 men, 17 women and 29 children.
“The operation started at 12:05 midnight until 6:50 this morning. All those detained as a result of the inspection of 215 foreigners by 39 Immigration officers.
“A total of 63 individuals arrested are Filipinos while another is Indonesian. They were found not to have valid identification documents,” he said at a press conference here today.
He said all the illegal immigrants will be placed at the Kota Kinabalu Immigration Detention Depot for further investigation. – Named
