Inflation slows in America during September, but less than expected

Data from the US Department of Labor showed, on Thursday, that the consumer price index slowed last September to 2.4 percent on an annual basis, compared to 2.5 percent in August.

Expectations were that it would slow down Inflation To the level of 2.3 percent.

On a monthly basis, the consumer price index in September remained unchanged at 0.2 percent, against expectations that it would slow to 0.1 percent.

In contrast, the core CPI, which excludes food and energy prices, rose to 3.3 percent year-on-year in September, compared to 3.2 percent in August.

On a monthly basis, the core CPI remained unchanged at 0.3 percent.

On the other hand, the rates of unemployment complaints increased in US More than expected, to 258 thousand orders last week, compared to expectations that it would rise to 231 thousand orders.

Unemployment complaints rates were at 225,000 applications during the previous week.
