Fire, Detroit Road
Police and fire units responded to a house fire at 10:53 p.m. Sept. 6. When safety services arrived, the apartment was filled with smoke and there was no response to knocks at the door. Fire and police officers forced open the front door and an intoxicated man was found inside the apartment. Reports said food left cooking in the oven may have contributed to the fire starting.
Property damage, Center Road
Police responded to a Culver’s restaurant at 10 p.m. Sept. 6 for a report of a vehicle that struck the building near the drive-thru. There was no further information at the time of the report
Assault, Colorado Avenue
A man was arrested for assault at 7:16 a.m. Sept. 11 when police were called to an assault in progress at a Pilot Travel Center. Police spoke to the two men involved and other witnesses and reviewed security camera footage before making the arrest.
Protection order violation, Centennial Avenue
Police responded to a protection order violation report at 8:36 p.m. Sept. 5. The suspect was found to be in violation and taken into custody at her residence on Hayes Street.
