“We urgently need to bring energy prices down further in order to make them internationally competitive,” says Lars Klingbeil. The SPD chairman once again pleads in the “Stern” for an industrial electricity price, promotes “massive investments” and wants the state to save jobs. Klingbeil knows that such demands have little chance of success with the FDP. The chancellor himself rebuffed his party, his parliamentary group and powerful state premiers when they called for cheaper electricity for large corporations months ago.
