BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN, OCT 25 – The Seri Begawan Religious Teaching University College (KUPU SB) team appeared to compete for the 2024 FA Cup and Futsal League Cup in the Futsal Tournament in conjunction with the 68th Annual Formal Religious Education Implementation, Department of Islamic Studies (JPI), Ministry Religious Affairs (KHEU) with the closing event of the tournament which took place at the Multipurpose Hall of the Sports Complex of the University of Brunei Darussalam, today.
Present as guest of honor and completing the presentation of prizes to the winners was the Permanent Secretary, KHEU, Haji Mohammad Rosli bin Haji Ibrahim.
In the final of the FA Cup, the KUPU SB Team managed to beat the Syariah Affairs Department Team B with a result of 2-0. Meanwhile, in the final match of the Futsal League Cup, KUPU SB once again managed to defeat Team BR II A with a result of 2-1.
In the tournament, the Best Player Award and the Most Scorer Award were won by Mohd Asri bin Haji Aspar from KUPU SB.
Meanwhile, the Best Goalkeeper Award was won by Haji Ismail bin Haji Shamsul also from KUPU SB.
A total of 28 teams participated in the tournament which was open to JPI officers, instructors and staff.
In addition, it also witnessed the participation of invited teams from the Government Mufti Department, Brunei Darussalam University, Sultan Sharif Ali Islamic University, KUPU SB, Department of Co-Curriculum Education, Ministry of Education and departments under KHEU.
The tournament is one of the initiatives and encouragement for JPI citizens in particular and the participants of the invitational team in general, to be active in the field of sports to preserve physical and mental health, in addition to strengthening the spirit of sportsmanship, friendship, friendship and the spirit of brotherhood among the participants .
