Nagelsmann will announce Ilkay Gündogan’s successor on Monday at the DFB team meeting for the Nations League international matches. Gündogan ended his DFB career after the European Championship. Kimmich (29) is the most experienced player in the current squad with 91 international appearances to date and is the clear first candidate for the captain’s armband.
