BELAIT, SEPT 30 – Mashhor General Contractors Sdn Bhd (MGCSB) recently organized an anti-tobacco talk for its staff which took place at their main office in Jalan Pangsa, Seria.
Present as a guest speaker at the event was the Health Education Officer from the Health Promotion Center (HPC) of the Ministry of Health, Dayang Arni Nur Aqilah binti Haji Awang Bakar.
His presence was welcomed by the HSSE Manager of the MGCSB Corporate Group, Awang Mohd Rizal bin Dr Haji Abdul Latif.
At the event, he presented the company’s goals and smoking policy objectives to support the Ministry of Health’s initiatives and commitment to ensure the health and safety of everyone who contributes to a healthier lifestyle.
He also delivered important information about the harmful effects of tobacco products including smoking and the use of electronic cigarettes or vape.
In his talk, he also emphasized the risks posed to the community around them, including the importance of maintaining a smoke-free environment.
In addition, the event also offered an overview of the Tobacco Order 2005, which outlines legal restrictions on smoking and electronic cigarettes in restricted areas.
The MGCSB hopes that the talk will help workers gain useful information about the regulations to help them comply and thus promote a healthier workplace. In addition to continuing to commit to fostering awareness about health and well-being among its workforce.
The talk aims to raise awareness about the dangers of tobacco use.
Also present, Deputy Director of Mashhor Group and Chief Executive Officer of Mashhor Waste Management Resources, Malai Shamil Faris bin Dr Malai Haji Abdul Hamid.
