A few days after announcing their comeback, Linkin Park landed at number one in the German single charts for the first time. This was announced by GfK Entertainment. The new front woman is Emily Armstrong, and the new song “The Emptiness Machine” goes straight to the top.

In addition, some older titles return to the top 100, namely “Numb” (36), “In The End” (53) and “Faint” (65).

Linkin Park became known in the late 90s for a mixture of metal, rock, rap and electronic sounds. Singer Chester Bennington took his own life in 2017. The band has been on hiatus since then with an uncertain future. Linkin Park plans to release a new album on November 15th.

Linkin Park is also very present in the album charts this week. Five of the group’s works can be found there: “Meteora” (nine), “Hybrid Theory” (14), “Minutes To Midnight” (34), “Papercuts” (37) and “Living Things” (71).

David Gilmour tops the album charts

In the single charts, Shirin David slips to second place with “Bauch Beine Po” after six weeks at number one in a row. The top five are completed by singer Ayliva (“Wunder” in third place, “Lilien” in fifth place) and the band Jeremias (“Meer”, fourth).

There is also a new entry at the top of the album charts. British guitarist and singer David Gilmour, who became world famous as a member of Pink Floyd, lands at number one with “Luck and Strange”.

Behind her is musician Ayliva with “In Liebe”. Newcomers follow in places three to five: rapper Curse (“Indestructible Summer”, three), singer-songwriter Sophia (“When it feels good”, four) and rapper Farid Bang (“XII”, five).
