Detroit (dpa) – NFL star Amon-Ra St. Brown and the Detroit Lions have won a game that was almost thought to be lost and have started the NFL season with a victory. The Lions won 26:20 after overtime against the Los Angeles Rams. The team had given up a 17:3 lead and only forced overtime with a field goal 17 seconds before the end. St. Brown delivered an unremarkable performance, catching just three passes for a total of 13 yards.

In a repeat of last season’s playoff game, the Lions fell behind due to a field goal, but had the game completely under control after that. Although neither St. Brown nor tight end Sam LaPorta were dominant in this phase, Jameson Williams showed his qualities and ended up scoring a touchdown and 121 yards with only five passes caught. But then the Rams worked their way back and also benefited from a bad pass by Lions quarterback Jared Goff.

The Lions made it to the NFC finals last season and were just one win away from reaching the Super Bowl. The team of German-American St. Brown now wants to be there at the next final in New Orleans next February.
