The fatal accident of a Liverpool FC football fan has overshadowed the Champions League match between AC Milan and the English Premier League club. According to a statement from Liverpool FC, the fan died on Tuesday near the airport in the Italian city of Bergamo on the way to Milan.

Jürgen Klopp’s former club said in a statement that they were deeply saddened by the tragic death of the fan following a traffic accident in Bergamo in the early hours of the morning. At the match in Milan, the Liverpool FC players wore black armbands.
The club also announced that club officials in Milan are working with the local police and the consulate. Support is also being provided to Liverpool fans who were also affected by the devastating accident.
