Central defender Florian Le Joncour from second division football club SV Elversberg has suffered a serious elbow injury and will be out for a long time. The 29-year-old’s club announced this today after further examinations.
Le Joncour was injured in an unfortunate fall during the 4-0 win against SV Darmstadt last Saturday. Although he did not suffer any fractures, the injury was “still serious”. SVE sports director Ole Book suspected that all the ligaments in his elbow were torn.
“Everyone was in shock on Saturday,” said Book. “Florian is an important support for us, and we hope first and foremost for a good recovery for him personally.” Le Joncour is due to undergo surgery soon.
The match on Saturday was interrupted for 20 minutes after the incident. Both teams reacted with shock.
