LTdL 2024: Tarozzi captures Kulai

KULAI, 4 OCT – Italian rider, Manuel Tarozzi took advantage of today’s sloping route when he emerged the champion of the sixth stage of Le Tour de Langkawi (LTdL) 2024 from Batu Pahat to Kulai, Johor for a distance of 123.4 kilometers (km), today.

The rider from the VF Group-Bardiani-CSF-Faizane team made the break in the last kilometer and was closely followed by Stefan de Bod from the EF Education-Easypost team, first arriving at the finish line with a record of 2 hours 28 minutes 58 seconds (s).

Third place went to the fourth and fifth stage champion, Arvid dr Kleijn from Tudor Pro Cycling Team who was 0.09s behind.

“After breaking away, Bod, who has extraordinary strength, tried to catch up and closely follow me but in the last 300 meters (m) I accelerated straight to the finish line,” said the 27-year-old rider.

The results recorded today saw de Kleijn once again snatch the Orange Jersey (King of the Sprint) from JCL Team UKYO rider Matteo Malucelli.

DSM-Firmenich PostNL rider Max Poole remained in the Green Jersey (overall leader) with a cumulative time of 19:02.04s, followed by JCL Team UKYO’s Thomas Pesenti (+0.14s).

The Polka Dot Jersey (King of the Hill) remains the property of BH Burgos rider Mario Aparicio Munoz with 27 points, closely followed by Poole with 22 points and the third rider of Astana Qazaqstan Team, Anthon Charmig with 12 points.

JCL Team UKYO rider Manabu Ishibashi retained the White Jersey (Asia’s Best rider) with 19:04.21s, leaving teammate Yuma Koishi (+2.41s) while Aisan Racing Team’s Keigo Kusaba was third (+2.45s). – Named
