Man allegedly sexually harassed women on Berlin S-Bahn

The federal police arrested a man at the weekend who is said to have sexually harassed two women on an S-Bahn train. Witnesses called the emergency number on Sunday night and pulled the emergency brake, causing the S3 train to come to a halt at Rummelsburg station, the authorities said. The 35-year-old is said to have touched the women in the hip area and thighs for sexual reasons.

According to the federal police, the man had already been noticed at Ostkreuz the night before: He is said to have deliberately and unprovokedly pushed a traveler in the back. The man the 35-year-old pushed was about to drink from a glass bottle and broke off a piece of his tooth. Federal police officers took his personal details and released him.

The 35-year-old is now being investigated for assault and sexual harassment. He has already come to the attention of the police several times, it was said. (dpa)
