Man arrested after threatening Rally’s employee with a gun

SOUTH EUCLID, Ohio — Officers responded to Rally’s at 12:19 a.m. Oct. 4 after an employee reported that a customer pointed a gun at him during an argument.

With the assistance of the employee, officers located the suspect hiding the loaded gun in bushes near to an apartment building near Noble Road.

The suspect ran but was detained after a short chase. He was with a woman who had been involved in the argument but was not charged. She said the employees were rude to them and she was overcharged for the order that was incorrectly made.

The employee explained how the suspect became irritated and threatened to fight him and spit on the drive-thru window. He said the suspect then pulled out the gun and pointed it at him before running from the business.

The suspect, a Cleveland Heights man, 33, was arrested for aggravated menacing. He was also charged with having a weapon under disability due to him having a previous felony conviction for aggravated drug trafficking, thus prohibiting him from possessing a firearm.
