BROOK PARK, Ohio – A Brook Park man, 28, resisted arrest at about 8 a.m. Sept. 14 at a Fry Road home, then hit a police officer and threatened to kill him.
Police were called to the home to arrest the man because he had violated a protection order that required him to stay away from the home.
Police met the man on the home’s front porch. At first he cooperated with police, even placing his hands behind his back.
However, when police tried to grab his wrist and place him in handcuffs, the man punched one officer in the face. The officer pulled the man toward him and everyone ended up in the front yard.
The man tried to punch another officer in the face but missed and hit the officer’s shoulder. Police wrestled the man to the ground. They pinned his arms down.
The man looked at the officer he had punched in the face and said he would kill him. Police placed the man in handcuffs.
The man again looked at the officer he had punched and said, “You’re dead.” A passerby witnessed the incident and wrote a statement.
