A 32-year-old was chased by a man with a knife at Karlsruhe Central Station and was seriously injured on a platform. As a police spokeswoman said on Saturday, a train driver alerted the emergency services shortly before 11 p.m.
When the federal police arrived, they only found the injured man. It is still unclear where the attacker fled to. The police initially assumed that it was a personal conflict.
For safety reasons, the station was initially cordoned off in the evening, the police spokeswoman said. Train traffic was also partially suspended. However, it soon became clear “that it was probably an issue between these two people and that there was no danger to the rest of the population.”
The seriously injured man was taken to hospital. According to the police spokeswoman, his life was not in danger. The investigation will now continue on Saturday to find the suspect. (dpa, AFP)
