Maroc Telecom’s net profits fell by 2.3% in nine months

The company’s consolidated revenues increased 0.7 percent to 27.4 billion dirhams, and its customer base increased 6.1 percent to 79.7 million, according to Reuters.

Maroc Telecom’s debts increased by 32.1 percent to 23 billion dirhams after a commercial court upheld a ruling issued in July requiring the company to pay 6.3 billion dirhams in compensation to its competitor (Wana Corporate), known by its commercial name (I intend).

Inwi, the third largest telecommunications company in Morocco, filed the lawsuit in 2021, accusing Maroc Telecom of abusing its dominant position in the market.

Emirates Telecommunications Company owns 53 percent of Maroc Telecom, which is listed in Casablanca Stock Exchange and Euronext Paris, while the Moroccan state owns 22 percent.

In addition to its operations in the Kingdom of Morocco, Maroc Telecom operates subsidiaries in Benin, Burkina Faso, Central Africa, Chad, Gabon, Ivory Coast, Mali, Mauritania, Niger and Togo.
