To say goodbye to his former teammates, Mats Hummels first traveled by plane – and then on an electric scooter. On Saturday, Borussia Dortmund published a video on the X platform showing Hummels riding a scooter through the stadium catacombs before Jakub Blaszczykowski and Lukasz Piszczek’s farewell game. “There was a traffic jam, like always on match day,” said Hummels in an interview with Sky about his unusual journey.

“I trained in Rome this morning and then came straight by plane. Then there was a traffic jam on the B1 and I wouldn’t have made it on time. That way I was able to hear Kloppo’s announcement and warm up properly,” said the new AS Roma signing.

On the sidelines of the farewell game for Blaszczykowski and Piszczek, the 35-year-old, whose contract expired in the summer, was also officially bid farewell by BVB. In addition to Hummels, numerous former BVB professionals were in attendance, as was former coach Jürgen Klopp.
