The mysterious experience of seeming to ‘die’ within 15 minutes as a result of magic made singer, director and radio presenter, Mawi come back to life.
Having shared scary stories on podcasts and knowledge gatherings he attended, the owner of the full name Asmawi Ani admitted that an incident almost a decade ago brought major changes in life in terms of career.
“Before suffering from a mystical illness, I once thought of leaving the field of art. The family also asked to do the same.
“However, I was reborn after this incident. I started thinking about writing a script and publishing a film. If I sing, I want to sing my own songs.
“When I wanted to leave the art field, suddenly there were more and more offers to perform.
“I got many invitations to perform at mosques, suraus and universities. I am also often invited to knowledge gatherings to share experiences,” he said when met at the Tsumawi 20th Mawi World Live In Kuala Lumpur concert press conference at a hotel in Bangi, recently.
The concert organized in conjunction with Mawi’s two decades of involvement in the arts will rock the Mega Star Arena, Kuala Lumpur on January 25 next year, BH Online reported.
In another development, the former Akademi Fantasia 3 champion informed that the artistic blood flowing in him was inherited by his only child, Cahaya Malaika who is now 12 years old. – Agency
